He was predeceased by: his parents, Viron V. Lane and Hazel Griffin Lane; his brother Jack Lane; and his grandson Michael Shoults. He is survived by: his wife Martha Rhoades; his children, Jeff Lane (Brenda) of Rigby, ID and Diane Lane of Idaho Falls, ID; his stepson Brian Carson of Rigby, ID; his brother Jerry Lane of Moses Lake, WA; and his grandchildren, Crystal, Steven, Tyson, Tasha, Jeff (JJ), Adrienne and Brian. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
