He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Nilson and Mable Nilson (Lindblad); his son Joel Nilson; and his siblings, Donald Nilson and Judith Loveless.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his children, Russell, Lisa, Jeffrey and Rob; and his adoptive children, Jeremy and Marygene Sotin. He is also survived by children; 9 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
