He was predeceased by : his parents, Merle Hoffman and Ileta Hoffman. He is survived by : his sons, R. J., Todd (Holly) and Kevin; his wife Sharon (Harris); his grandchildren, Dove, Reagan, Carter, Merle, Gudrun, Ileta and Norma; his great grandchild Simon; his sister DeNiese Anderson (Jack Alvord); his nephew Dan Smith (Shawna); and also DeNiese. He is also survived by several cousins, and family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Salmon High School FFA, or the donor's choice.
