It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Whitney Ree Hickey (Salmon, Idaho), who passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Whitney may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Whitney touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Eton Smith and Anna Decima Guilford Smith; and her sister Carol (Bill). She is survived by: her significant other Bill Hickey; her daughters, Diane and Alana; her sons-in-law, Pete and Ernest; her grandchildren, Shea, William and Annah; and her great grandchildren, Elmira and Matilda.
