He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Catarino Guzman and Carmen Rodriguez Guzman; his sister Carmen R. Guzman; and his nephew Jose Manuel "Manuelito" Hernandez Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Bertha Guzman of Michoacán; and his children, Lizbet Guzman, Jose Guzman, Miguel Guzman and Chelsea Guzman.
