He was predeceased by: his parents, C. T. "Chuck" McKasson and Mary Alice McKasson. He is survived by: his wife Carol Jackson; his children, Douglas McKasson (Wendy), Mark McKasson (Cathy), Sarah Brown (Tyson) and Susan Hilverda (Brian); and his sister Nancy Jane Schaedler (James). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
