Bowton of Abingdon, Illinois, born in Galesburg, Illinois, who passed away on October 18, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Lee S. Barton and Vada Arlene Barton (Calkins); her husband James R. Bowton; her son Terry; her brothers, Richard, Kenneth and Forrest Barton; and her grandson Jimmy Bowton.
She is survived by : her children, Daniel Bowton (Janet) of Mahomet, Illinois and Majorie Bowton of Abingdon; her grandchildren, Teresa Suchomel (Chris) of Iowa City, Susan Young of Iowa City, Kelly Goldberg (Michael) of Auburndale, Melinda Hull (Todd) of Effingham, Debra Rafferty of Abingdon and Michael Rafferty of Keller, Texas; and her daughter-in-law Linda Bowton of Iowa City. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
