She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Newman and C. Lucille Garner (Self); her husband Omer "Gene" West; and her son Roger. She is survived by: her children, Loren West (Kathy Gabbert) of Abingdon and Julie Shipplett (Jeff) of Abingdon; her grandchildren, Brittany Shipplett, Vanessa Shipplett (Brandon Kaplan), Roger West, Jr. and Nick West; her great grandchildren, Kiara and Milo; and her nephew Luke Cason. She is also survived by her family, helping with her grandkids and great grandkids.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post 381 (546 IL-41, Abingdon, IL 61410).
