He is survived by: his spouse Tonda Frey; his children, Katie Lafollette (Nate) of Galesburg, Jacob Carnes of Knoxville and James Carnes (Nicci) of Little Swan Lake; his siblings, Glen Carnes (Sharon) of Galesburg, Joe Carnes (late Susan) of Peoria, Carolyn Freburg (late John) of Abingdon, Diane Hobbs (Bob) of Oklahoma, Joan Wherley (Roger) of Oklahoma, Katrina Boys (Mike) of St. Augustine, Cindy Chase of Abingdon and Janet McCommons (Curt) of Abingdon; his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Frey (Ellen) of Clearwater and Keith Chase of Florida; and his grandchildren, Brailey N. Lafollette and Cooper J. Carnes.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel (206 N Washington St, Abingdon, IL 61410). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Danny's family to establish a memorial fund at a later date in his name.
