He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Brown and Ruth Frances Brown (Peterson); and his siblings, Richard Brown, Robert Brown, Mary Beetler and Joann Coffey.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Elaine Butts; his children, Steven Brown (Judy) of Cairo, Mark Brown (Traci) of Abingdon, Rodney Brown (Megan) of Knoxville, Jeffrey Brown (Debbie) of Abingdon and Lisa Gordon (Bill) of Cumberland City, Tennessee; and his sisters, Dorothy Murdock of Wataga, Carol McGrew of Kahoka and Catherine Kimmel (Tom) of Kendallville, Indiana. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 17th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West, Inc. (206 N Washington St, Abingdon, IL 61410). A graveside service was held on Friday, July 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Abingdon Cemetery (501 W Memorial Dr, Abingdon, IL 61410).
