Joan leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joan’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Joan will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Cotton and Josephine Cotton (Guardalabene); and her brothers, Sam and Dale. She is survived by: her husband Clarence O. "Doodles" Thurman of Abingdon; and her children, Todd Thurman of Shaftsbury, Vermont and Traci Brown (Mark) of Abingdon.
