He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob J. Schaver and Jeanette Schaver (Buikema); and his siblings, Darlene Rathje (James), Carol Stash and Kenneth Schaver.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn R. Naftzger of Albany; his children, Julie Geerts (Wayne) of Albany and Eric Schaver (Shannon) of Taylor Ridge, IL; his grandchildren, Byron, Korbin Geerts, Megan Schaver (Bryan Ross) and Macey Schaver; his brothers, Harlan Schaver (Evelyn) of Fulton and Robert Schaver (Deb) of Albany; and his sister-in-law Barbara Schaver.
A memorial has been established to the Garden Plain Presbyterian Church.
