He is survived by: his wife Brenda Wellen; his children, Tanya Ferguson (Norman) of Trenton, Pamela Voss (Ryan) of Breese, Derrek Wellen of Maryville and Travis Wellen (Abby) of Albers; his grandchildren, Serena Voss (Thomas), Callie Ferguson, Xander Voss and Hannah Wellen; his siblings, Linda Singleton of Granite City, Roger Wellen (Celie) of Swansea and David Wellen (Bonnie) of Albers; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Sandelin of St. Rose, Karen Aughenbaugh of Indianapolis, IN, Sandy Johnson (Lyle) of Breese and Eric Woltering (Sandy) of Farmington, MO. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (202 N Broadway, Albers, IL 62215).
In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or St. Bernard Cemetery Committee and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th Street, Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
