We bid farewell to Gary Lee Schomburg of Aledo, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 8, 2025 at the age of 86. Gary touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Schomburg and Lucille Schomburg (Brown); and his wife Judy Kankel. He is survived by: his children, Julie Schomburg (John Ridley), Brad Schomburg (Deborah), James Schomburg, Mark Schomburg, Vickie Day and Lisa Bocquin (Dennis); his brother Dell Schomburg (Judy); and his sister-in-law Sandy Wakefield (Jody). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO or to the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
