He is survived by: his parents, Richard Simpson and Janet Simpson (Shughart); his wife Gina Taylor; his daughters, Grace Waldrup (Scotty) and Gretchen Alwardt (Tyler); his granddaughter Ellen Alwardt; his sister Kathy Dunn (Jeff); his mother-in-law Sherrie Taylor; his siblings-in-law, LeAnn Malecha (Steve) and Michael Taylor (Jodie); and his pets, Maggie and Max. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be made to the Norwood Cemetery or the Alexis United Presbyterian Church and can be sent to the funeral home.
