He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Dechert and Joan Dechert (Schreiner); his nephew Scott Koivisto; and his aunt Esther Dechert. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Dechert; his sons, Nicholas Dechert (Savannah Svedman) and Nathan Dechert; his sister Nancy Swirsley (Alan); his sister-in-law Barb Koivisto (Rich); his nephews, Steve Koivisto (Andrea), Andy Koivisto and Adam Swirsley; his niece Nicole Swirsley; and his pets, Emmet and Coal.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the DeFiore Funeral Home (10763 Dundee-Huntley Rd, Huntley, IL 60142).
