With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jane Catherine Matousek of Algonquin, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 12, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Jane Catherine departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Jane Catherine may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Jane Catherine leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Tierney and Florence Tierney (Murtaugh); her husband Harold; and her son Steven. She is survived by: her children, Barbara Bangert (Stephen), Michael Matousek (Kathy), Thomas Matousek (Susan), Timothy Matousek (Karen) and David Matousek (Ruth). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Donations, in lieu of flowers memorials are requested by the family in her name, to Milestone Inc, 4060 McFarland Rd, Loves Park, IL 61111 a not-for-profit that assists developmentally and physically disabled adults.
