He was predeceased by: his parents, John Haake and Jacobina Haake; and his siblings, Gerard Haake (Alice), Agnes Haake, Rita Meyer (Dominic) and Ruth Doganieri (Louis).
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Hemker; his children, Annette Holst (Paul) of East Moline, Father Chris Haake of Geneseo and Colleen Cajigal (Arthur) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and his grandchildren, Samantha Holst, Hannah Holst, Natalie Holst, Anastasia Cajigal, Alexandra Cajigal (Nicholas McDonald) and Harrison Cajigal. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A vigil service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home - Alpha (111 S 1st St, Alpha, IL 61413). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Saint John the Beloved Catholic Church (390 E Hwy Ave, Woodhull, IL 61490). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Saint John's Catholic Cemetery (390 E Hwy Ave, Woodhull, IL 61490).
