In the vast expanse of eternity, Barbara shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Barbara farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Leland Bernt and Pat Bernt; her husband Ron Dunning; her stepdaughter Angela Austill; her son-in-law Derek; her grandchildren, Gabriel and Rhoni; and her sisters, Carrie Mellen and Brenda Vernatti (Troy). She was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Main Street United Methodist Church (1400 Main St, Alton, IL 62002). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
