He was predeceased by: his parents, William I. Godwin and Edith Godwin (Mather); his son Daniel Godwin; and his siblings, Fredrick Godwin (Frances), William I. Godwin II (Fran) and Maryella Bierbaum (Paul).
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Godwin; his daughter Karen Sinks (Stuart) of Brighton, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Sydney Sinks and Jack Sinks of Brighton, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
