Robert Rolwes Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Rolwes (Alton, Illinois), who passed away on March 20, 2020 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Rolwes and Anna Rolwes (Schultz); his wife Arlene Westermayer; and his brothers, Otto Rolwes Jr. (Justine) and William Rolwes (Audrey).

He is survived by: his children, Mark Rolwes (Mary) of St. Louis, MO and Laura Enke (Dave) of St. Peters, MO; his grandchildren, Tina Landeck (Pat), Sean Enke, Mark Rolwes Jr. and Mandy Rolwes; and his great grandchildren, Riley, Caleb and Ivy.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton.

“Bob was an angel in disguise when he met my mother, Flossie Auer. They both wanted companionship and found in each other what they needed. Bob was so loving toward my mother as she was suffering from Parkinson's and slipping into dementia. After mom passed, I would call Bob from time to time. The last time I called him was right before he passed. I think mom was telling me to reach out. unfortunately, I was too late to talk to him. Laura did get him the message and that made all the difference.”
