The family announces the passing of Sally Riggs (Alton, Illinois) on October 21, 2026. Sally, born on July 31, 1946 in Saint Louis, Missouri, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Sally will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Sally by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Sally is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Sally’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Walker and Zelpha Walker (Mottweiler); and her husband Fred "Fritz" Riggs. She is survived by: her sons, Jack Kelley of Alton, Troy Kelly (Maryann) of Godfrey, Brian Kelley (Dena) of Alton and Shawn Kelley (Martha) of O'Fallon Mo; and her brother Robert Walker. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gent Funeral Home & Cremation Services (2409 State St, Alton, IL 62002). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
