As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Shirley Iola may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Schumacher and Mabel Schumacher (Drummond); and her siblings, Robert Clifford Schumacher, Howard William Schumacher, Dorothy Imogene Souder, Martha Dolores Schott and Gladys Louise Crowson.
She is survived by: her sister Letitia Alberta Schumacher of Alton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gent Funeral Home (2409 State St, Alton, IL 62002).
Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or to the Food Crisis Pantry in Alton.
