Vernon Schaefer Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 3, 2025, at the age of 89, Vernon Schaefer (Alton, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Schaefer and Louise Schaefer (Dubbelde); his wife Roberta (Taul); his brother-in-law Bill Eberhart; his brother Arlin Schaefer; and his son-in-law Dan Heuer.
He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Eberhart and Gerald Schaefer (Connie); his sister-in-law Sharon Schaefer; and his children, Deborah Heuer of Fremont, NE, Daniel Schaefer (Susan) of Giddings, TX, Ruth Duda of Wichita, KS and Cathryn Demeur (Chris) of Buffalo Grove, IL.. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (6809 Godfrey Rd, Godfrey, IL 62035).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church of Godfrey.
