He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Johnson and Maxine Johnson (Garretson); his wife Joyce Elliott (Walters); his daughter Brenda Voigts; and his sister Donna.
He is survived by: his children, Julie Durdan (Jon) of Ancona, Donna Essington (David) of Dwight, Brad Johnson (Bonnie) of Streator and Andrea Dye (Chris) of Florida; his stepchildren, Pat Decker (Tom) of Long Point, Debbie Liptak of Streator, Sandy McMullen (Gene) of Streator and Curtis Elliott of Forest; his grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Sarah Stenson, Jacob, Jeremy Durdan, Andrea, Stephanie, Emily, Elizabeth Johnson, Callie and Zoey Dye; his sisters, Dorothy McDermaid of Streator and Judy Berry of Streator; and his former wife Karen Johnson (Parcher) of Long Point. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home (305 S Park St, Streator, IL 61364). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at the Long Point Cemetery (2667 E 2600 N Rd, Long Point, IL 61333).
Memorials may be made to the Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
