In 2021 Randy contracted the Covid 19 virus with multiple complications where he was ultimately transferred to the University of Iowa with a long hospital stay resulting in the first double lung transplant performed related to Covid-19 at the University of Iowa.
In Lieu of flowers the family request that all donations be sent to the Andalusia Fire Protection District.
