He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Alonso Shipley and Lucille Shipley (Tidd); his daughter Rebecca "Becky" Shipley Rushing; and his siblings, Jim Shipley, Bob Shipley, Alice Frick and Barbara Knowles.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Govekar; his sons, Richard Shipley and Donald, Jr. Shipley (Kim); his granddaughter Brooklyn Rebecca Shipley; his stepgrandchildren, Hunter Chapman and Alayna Chapman; and his sisters-in-law, Rose Ann Bruchhauser, Helen Knapp (Dan) and Christine Stickler. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:30 AM. A graveside service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Anna City Cemetery (103 E Market St, Anna, IL 62906). The inurnment was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Anna Cemetery E Davie (608 E Davie St, Anna, IL 62906).
