He is survived by: his daughter Jessica Cates (Bryan Todd) of Anna; his stepdaughters, Laura Livingston (John) of Olive Branch and Tory Dodson of Thebes; his grandchildren, Jamie Ford and Creighton Todd; his brothers, Jeff Cates (Kim) of Anna and Patrick Cates (Laura) of Cobden; and his niece Samantha Cates (Ethan Kirkman).
