He was predeceased by: his parents, Hermon Edward Johnson and Methel "June" Johnson (Dunlap); his wife Martha Anne Johnson; his daughter Shannon Brown; and his brother Edward Robert Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Jessie Dart (Nick) of Oblong, Illinois, Ronda Goldman of Birdseye, Indiana, Christina Johnson of Indiana, Ben Johnson (Jessie) of Robinson and Brian Johnson of Robinson, Illinois; his grandchildren, Allison Johnson of Robinson, Illinois, Cody Johnson of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Mallorie Dart of Oblong, Illinois and Wesley Dart of Oblong, Illinois; his sisters, Susan McDaniel of Robinson and Doris Wirth of Effingham, Illinois; and his siblings-in-law, Sarah and Dick Sutfin of Robinson, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Pulliam Funeral Home (302 E Main St, Oblong, IL 62449). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen the Eastern Illinois Sportsman Club - Hunters Education Program as the preferred memorial.
