With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Alfred Lira of Antioch, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Alfred left this world on July 23, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gregorio Lira and Margarita Lira (Juarez); his wife Martha Lira (Carlino); and his siblings, Albert Lira (Manu), Mary Bautista (Ray), Gregory Lira (Chuy), Phillip Lira (Jessie), Marshall Lira (Grace) and Louis Lira.
He is survived by: his children, Todd Lira (Maryjo), Michele Habjan (Mike) and Mark Lira (Helen); his sister Mary Scholle (Socorro); and his grandsons, Alex Lira, Jack Abernethy, Dominic and Vance Lira. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Strang Funeral Home (1055 Main St, Antioch, IL 60002). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
