It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois M Pflieger of Antioch, Illinois, born in Waukegan, Illinois, who passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton Merkel and Margaret Merkel; and her siblings, Jerome Merkel (Iona), Vincent Merkel (Verna), Bernice Fincutter (Ray), Joan Williams (Ray) and James Merkel.
She is survived by: her siblings, Mary Callanan (late Jack), Thomas Merkel (late Delores), Margaret Finley (late Richard) and Carol Haskell (late Gary). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch (1055 Main St, Antioch, IL 60002). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the Our Lady of the Lakes Parish – St. Peter (557 Lake St, Antioch, IL 60002). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (557 Lake St, Antioch, IL 60002). A burial was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at the Highland Memorial Park (33100 Hunt Club Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048).
