He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda West; his grandparents, Rosella Butler, Forrest and Virginia Whitsel; and his aunt Kathy Whitsel.
He is survived by: his parents, William Steven Whitsel, Sr. (Feena) and Sondra Butler (Darrell); his children, Tia Frydenger of Decatur and Zachary Whitsel (LeAnne) of Decatur; his stepchildren, Tatiana Harmeier (Sydnee) and Fabiola Smith (Justin); his siblings, Christopher Whitsel, Travis Whitsel (Rachel), Allison Maupin, Tiffany Schussele (Adam), Jaclyn Damm and Danyelle McFall; his grandchildren, Kallum of Karolyne, ZJ, Thomas, Rylee, Cameron, Warren, Stephen, Clover and Hendrix; his grandfather Alvin Butler; and his nieces and nephews, Haley, Autumn, Logan, Adam, Trenton, Krislyn, Dominic, Jaylin, Camren and Jax.
