He was predeceased by: his parents, Krishan Bir and Kamla Bir. He is survived by: his wife Claudia Esposito; his sister Anupa Bir (Jack Maypole); and his siblings-in-law, Cristina Esposito, Fabio Esposito (Sheila Picklyk) and Sandrina Esposito (Nathanael Olson). He is also survived by his family and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a scholarship fund that will be established in Amit's name at McGill University (Montreal, Canada).
