He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert A. Ebert and Myra Ebert; and his sister Linda Eaton. He is survived by: his wife Joanne E. Ebert; his children, David (Antonia), Daniel (Leigh), Elizabeth Calato (Chris) and Sarah Cossiboon (Joshua); his grandchildren, Hannah, Bethany, Sylvie, Ian, Charles, Liam and Jillian; and his siblings, Eunice Schalk (Gerald), James Ebert (Jeri) and Juanita Ebert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
