He is survived by: his wife Anne Walter; his sons, Carl (Cindy), Fred and Rob (Christina); and his grandchildren, Alexander (Marisa), Karina (Devin), Natasha, Ella and Payton. He is also survived by many nieces and, nephews.
He served many years as an officer, and later director of the Danube Swabian Foundation of the USA.
