Eugene Kanter Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 15, 2025, at the age of 97, Eugene Kanter (Arlington Heights, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Eugene may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Eugene touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his wife Florence Kanter; his parents, Sam Kanter and Mildred Kanter (Dunas); and his siblings, Norton Kanter (Mary) and Irving Kanter (Edith).
He is survived by: his children, Alex Kanter (Evelyn), Mindy Nichols and Louis Kanter. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Shalom Memorial Park (1700 W Rand Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004). A shiva was held on Friday, July 18th 2025, and on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at the Kanter Residence (8454 Monticello Ave, Skokie, IL 60076).
