He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Sapstein and Sally Sapstein (Levy); his siblings, Herbert Sapstein, Joan Sapstein, Paul Sapstein and Ann Kreiter; and his friends, Donald Freund and Marcia Anderle.

He is survived by: his friend Sandra Freund (Hertzberg). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
