Michael Schonberg wrote a sympathy message

“It is with great sadness that I heard of Iris's passing. Iris and I were not only classmates at Mather High School but coworkers along with her husband Tom during the mid-seventies at Curie High School. Although Iris and I hadn't been in touch for many years, I remember her well as a vivacious ball of energy. I don't know if she maintained that spirit throughout her life, but I smile - as I hope do others - at the memories I have of her great enthusiasm for life.”
