He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Harness and Martha F. Harness (Parker); and his sister Mary Harness. He is survived by: his former wives, Dixie Ann Harness of Mount Prospect and Willodean D. Harness of Tennessee; his brothers, Robert and James Harness (Janice); his stepchildren, Jennifer Jackolin, Matthew Bozik (Janet) and Thomas Bozik (Bonnie); and his grandchildren, Nicholas Jackolin, Eleanor and Jakob Bozik. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
