We announce the death of Norbert John Opon in Arlington Heights, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 86. Norbert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Opon and Emily Opon; and his daughter Laura Walker (Jimmy). He is survived by: his daughters, Dawn Opon, Susan Wolski (Bruce) and Judith Hopkins (late Terry); his grandchildren, Jennifer Eastep (Eric), Christina Wolski, Samantha Wolski, Margaret "Maggie" Salehzadeh (Mike Wiencek), Matthew Salehzadeh, Michael Salehzadeh and Angel Walker; his great grandchild Grace Hope Wieneck; his brother-in-law Norbert Maza; and his wife Mary. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
