He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Robert and Susie McNabb (McClure); his wife Maxine W. Smith; and his sister Ellen Mae Regal. He is survived by: his children, Jerry Brookins (Vicky) of Charleston, IL and Tammy Tammen (Brad) of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandchildren, Tevin Brookins (Jackie), Tamar Brookins, Addi Tammen, Camden Tammen and Layla Tammen; his great grandchildren, Alexus Ann Brookins, Conner Alan Crabtree, Finntan John Patterson, McKaylynn Grace Brookins and Landyn Robert Brookins; and his sister Paula Thompson of Mattoon.
A masonic service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Adams Funeral Chapel (2330 Shawnee Dr, Charleston, IL 61920). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
