He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Sword and Alice Sword (Haenitsch); his daughter Sharon Becker (Shirley); and his sisters, Beverly Lauder and Shirley Willstead.
He is survived by: his former wife Shirley A. Sword-Goetzke (Bill); his children, Lyle H. Sword (Paula), Lori Boden, Stan Sword (Tracy) and Steen; his sisters, Donna Nass and Barbara Lawrence; his stepdaughters, Deanna Hippeli, Jan Troxel and Dayna Troxel; and his grandsons, Noah Sword, Matthew Sword, Andrew Sword, Kevin Sword, Zachary Becker and Trey Boden. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
