She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Nelson and Leurita Nelson (Weir); her daughters, Dorothy Jean and Jeneen Troxel; and her brothers, Darrald, Oscar and LeRoy.
She is survived by: her husband Lyle Sword; her children, Jan Troxel of Ashton, IL, Deanna Hippele of Munich and Dayna Troxel of Ashton, IL; and her siblings, LaVonne Porter of Paris, France, Myron Nelson of Belleville, IL and Kenneth Nelson of Madison, WI. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chana United Methodist Church (606 N Main St, Chana, IL 61015). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
