He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. C. Everett Giles and Beulah Giles (Bledsaw); his wife Carol Stokes; his son Bob; and his brothers, Richard, Bill and Jerry.

He is survived by: his daughter Lori Giles (Daniel Gordon) of Assumption, IL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
