He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Cripe and Maureen Crone Cripe of Astoria; his parents-in-law, Alice Hays Long Lebkuecher, Robert Long and Charlie Lebkuecher; and his brothers-in-law, Chuck Lebkuecher and John Long.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Long; his sons, Todd (Debbie Nitcher) of Auxvasse and Scott (Amanda) of Lewistown, Illinois.; his grandchildren, Landon Robert Cripe, Meagan Eileen Cripe of Auxasse, Lydia Alice Cripe, Charles Garth Cripe and Adah Caroline Cripe of Lewistown; his brother Brian Cripe (Sharon) of Forsyth; his nephews, Adam (Amanda) and Garrett; and his niece Sarah.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Garth Cripe Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Astoria Rescue Squad.
