With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jeannine Shanks of Astoria, Illinois, who passed away on February 21, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gale Powell and Theda Powell (Drain); her son Duane Kenneth Shanks; and her granddaughters, Bambi Shanks and Georgia Ann Duckwiler.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest D. Shanks; and her daughters, Vicky Conway (Dean) of Astoria, Phyllis Batterton (Rick) of Ipava, Anni Mitchell of Astoria and Roberta McCormick (Chris) of Astoria. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Memorials may be made to the Woodland Church of the Brethren or the South Fulton Senior Center in Astoria.
