He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank R. Capps and Mary Capps (Kirk); his wife Charlotte Capps; his son Jerry Capps; his grandchildren, David Capps and Amy Newhouse; his great grandchild Cortaevius Williams; and his daughter-in-law Sondra Capps.

He is survived by: his children, Larry Capps of Kingston, GA, Theresa Newhouse III (Bright) of Rogers, AR, Joyce Paxton of Douglas, WY and Janette Morgan (William) of Maryville, TN; and his daughter-in-law Denise Capps. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
