Sandra Roman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra Roman of Atkinson, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 30, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arlo Atwell and Blanche Atwell (VanDeRostyne); her brother Lester Atwell; and her sister-in-law Karen Atwell. She is survived by: her children, Deanne Swanson (Russ McComber) of Geneseo, IL, Scott Roman (Rhonda) of Rock Island, IL and Stacey Roman (Ryan Driessens) of Moline, IL; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Swanson (Quinn Heilman), Shane Swanson, Shawn Roman (Jordan), Katelyn Roman, Karissa Roman, Lance Young (Lauda), Lindsay Campos (Raymeo), Elizabeth Antolik (Nic Myers) and Zachary Antolik. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 4:30 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vandemore Funeral Home - Atkinson (214 S State St, Atkinson, IL 61235). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (204 W Main St, Atkinson, IL 61235).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Atkinson Fire and Rescue or to the family of Sandra Roman to be dispersed amongst local charities.
