He is survived by: his daughters, Vernita Henson (Randy) of Atwood, Katy Patient (Mitch) of Atwood and Sara Combs (Jason) of St. Joseph; his stepdaughter Jaimee McPherson; his grandchildren, Kaci, Stephani, Caleb, Jacob, Elizabeth, Lillian, Gabe and Alivia; his great grandchild Declan; his stepgrandchildren, Ariel and Lauren; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Taylin and Tykari; his brother Jim Slade (Sharon) of Hammond; his nieces, Jennifer and Amanda; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Tyler, Jordan, Kyle, Molly and Kaden.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home (66 US-36, Atwood, IL 61913). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to Atwood Public Library.
