It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Shackleton (Aurora, Illinois), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 15, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lyman E. Carpenter and Christine Marie Carpenter; her husband Gordon A. Shackleton of Chicago; her siblings, Lyman, William, Robert Carpenter, Jane, Elizabeth (Rivenbark) and Evelyn (Pope); and her siblings-in-law, Robert Shackleton, Richard Shackleton, Alton Rivenbark, Truman Pope, Ann Shackleton, Janet Shackleton and Theresa Carpenter.

She is survived by: her sons, Roy (Anne) of Warrenville, Craig (Laurie) of Lakeway, TX, Alan (Donna) of Sugar Grove and Gordon (Angela) of Aurora; and her friend Sarah Cosentino-Cullinan. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
